A day for a little of this and a little of that, catching up on things that have been set aside, and a few discoveries on the Internet.
One of those intriguing tidbits?
Flying foxes. Well, flying fox bats, that is, with a wing span of six feet! This was a random Internet “find” courtesy of my son, intended to make me drop my jaw (and it did).
Other than that?
There are reminders to myself to stop and breathe. Necessary reminders. And as a result, I am focused on enjoying the pleasure of my son’s company and that of his friends who are in and out.
Not to mention, homemade peach pie!
From the archives, if you’re so inclined:
Happy Saturday night!

Stop, Breathe, Enjoy. Trade you some of the giant puffball we’re having for dinner (today’s find in the woods) for some of your peach pie (but don’t know how they might go together).

Peach pie? I haven’t baked one of those in just about forever. Can i send an allelujah? Yum, yum, and more yum. Happy weekend to you!

Taking a bit of a break! Yay! Good for you! Three exclamation points is probably two too many. Enjoy your weekend and your son 🙂
I used to make a peach pie or a cobbler at least once every summer. It’s been a while. That looks so delicious!

Remi and I had a contact that was willing to take us to the flying fox bats deep in the jungles of New Guinea for a story but somehow it didn’t happen. Can you imagine that I was relieved?
Hope the pie was yummy. All the sweeter because it was made with kindness…

Yikes, Heather! (Yes, I can imagine being relieved. Apparently they’re fruit eaters. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t want one caught in my hair!)
