Sonnet Bonnet?
Ach du lieber, Friday eve is here!
No hot man with whom to pass my time.
Thinking I’ll distract myself with cheer –
Cappuccino couplets filled with rhyme?
Might I ponder other things to do?
A fine male chest that always makes me smile?
I would find that cool now wouldn’t you?
Or might you seek a vivid verbal style?
As evening turns to night I’ll need to play
with hats and plumes or words to drift in dream,
Something juicy so my thoughts may stray,
To life’s delights, not dramas so extreme.
Does that portend a chuckle to be found?
Will I discover fun and fertile ground?
Sweet Treat
I wish to thank Sweet Soccer Mom for this –
The lovely blog award that she bestows,
Almost as tasty as smooth chocolate Bliss,
But ornamented with a bit of rose!
You are to thank the giver with a link
Then choose 15 to whom to pass this gift –
Forgive me with a blurry little blink,
I’m listing eight – enough to get my drift.
These honors are delicious, yes indeed,
And do enjoy the Scribblings referenced here
As well as nooks and crannies for your feed
Where hopefully new writers will appear.
So thank you, for this very nifty thing.
And bearing with the silly sonnet sing!

Too, too cute! You’re such a talented writer 🙂
BigLittleWolf says
You make me smile. (I haven’t misbehaved in verse in awhile. It was definitely time!)
Justine says
Wow! I am so honored. When I first discovered your blog, I thought to myself, man I hope to write like her someday. You have no idea what this means to me coming from you so thank you. I’ve been on a bloggy rut lately and this is just the spark I needed. Again, thank you!!
By the way, your sonnet is absolutely delightful. I agree with Soccer Mom, you are indeed one talented mother… 😉
Just please tell me I don’t have to write a sonnet to receive the award. I can barely rhyme.
BigLittleWolf says
No sonnets required, Justine! (Poor Will, spinning in his heavenly haven somewhere…) Just enjoy! (And I must say, I adored your last post with Little Miss – joyful is quite right!)
Belinda Munoz + The Halfway Point says
Another well-deserved award, BLW! Though I trailed off after reading “A fine male chest”…
I like some of the blogs you listed. Some I must click and read.
BigLittleWolf says
Thanks Belinda. (So glad you enjoyed the male décor.) 😉
Molly@Postcards from a Peaceful Divorce says
Thanks for the gift!
Great verse! I find rhyming so difficult to do.
BigLittleWolf says
My pleasure, Molly. This is a great way to encourage people to discover more lovely blogs.
Michelle Zive says
Muchas Gracias. It’s nice of YOU to recognize my writing on the blog. Thanks for reading and thanks for paying it forward. You’re the best!!
Cathy says
Oh BLW, how you have made my day! I always look forward to checking for your new posts on a daily basis. I love your writings and you have done quite the spectacular job on your sonnet here. I’m looking forward to checking out these other recipients too. Have a splendid day.
BigLittleWolf says
You too, Cathy!
Timmy says
I admire people who can write formal poetry–rhyme, meter and all that. Thank you for these two. They remind me of old times when I used to try my hand at such things. Now the morning coffee has to stand on its own merits. No more poetic accompaniment.
Susan says
I remember that “fine male chest” from the Solo Flex ads in the 80s!! I actually drew a picture of him for art class in high school. Nice to see him again.
And wonderful sonnetizing on your part! Your writing is always delightful to read.
BigLittleWolf says
Thanks, Susan. (And thanks for the 411 on that particular chest, which I found all over the net ages ago, but couldn’t find out who it was. Now I know and can properly attribute, thanks!)
Andrea @ Shameless Agitator says
Thank you and Back-At-You!
BigLittleWolf says
Yummy! (Not just the cake.) Some of my absolute FAVE bloggers on your list! (And hope it was a grand celebration.)
Rudri says
Loved the sonnet. I will check out your list too…
